Cirrus Logic Demonstrates ARM-based Embedded Processor Solutions

3/31/2004 - Cirrus Logic will be demonstrating its leading-edge ARM-based embedded processor solutions that cover a broad scope of embedded applications for home entertainment, portable consumer devices and industrial markets.

Chief among these will be a demonstration of the Cirrus Logic’s flagship embedded processor, the EP9315, enabling a wide variety of peripherals from a single chip:

  • PCMCIA card reader
  • USB printer
  • USB camera
  • USB hub supporting a mouse and keyboard
  • PC Monitor
  • LCD with touchscreen
  • I2S Audio
  • 12-button keypad
  • IRDA
  • Ethernet connection to an EDB9301 web server

Additional demos will showcase Cirrus’ MaverickCrunch technology, an advanced on-chip math coprocessor that greatly accelerates single- and double-precision integer and floating-point processing capabilities, as well as Cirrus Logic’s EDB9312 board support package, which recently received certification from Microsoft for its WindowsCE .NET 4.2 software. Cirrus also plans to demonstrate its EP7312 embedded solution that is currently enabling OmniFi’s Home Theater Wireless Streaming Products.
