3/31/2004 - Exar Corporation (Nasdaq: EXAR), a leading provider of high-performance, mixed-signal silicon solutions for the worldwide communications infrastructure announced it will be presenting its Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitters (UARTs) portfolio at the 2004 electronicaUSA/Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, California. These embedded semiconductor solutions will be showcased on March 31, 2004 in the Nu Horizons booth (# 826-S), an Exar distribution partner.
Exar, the UART market leader, offers the industry's broadest line-up of one, two, four, and eight-channel solutions that can deliver an immediate competitive advantage to customers with compressed time-to-market demands. These devices are compliant with leading industry protocols (bus interfaces PC/104, PC/104+, VME, PMC and Universal PCI) and standard pin-out/package configurations (16450/550). Exar's portfolio is compatible with industry standard 16550 and provides a migration path enabling customers to quickly implement new features. With features, such as, FIFO level triggers and counters, automatic flow control, and automatic RS-485 half-duplex control output, Exar's UARTs solutions reduce CPU overhead while simultaneously increasing data throughput for a variety of embedded applications including remote access, data collection, GPS, industrial automation, GPS, Point-of-sale (POS), and handheld/mobile. Exar's PCI UART solutions support CompactPCI, PC/104, PC/104+, VME, PMC and Universal PCI bus configurations.
"Exar looks forward to working teaming with Nu Horizons at the electronicaUSA/Embedded Systems Conference," said Susan Hardman, vice president and general manager of the Interface Products Division. "Announced last year and already gaining traction, Exar's XRT16L580 --the industry's smallest full featured single-channel (UART) will be one of the highlighted products in our exhibit."" Exar will be highlighting its unique Universal PCI UARTs at the show. Exar is the only supplier offering PCI UARTs that support both 3.3V and 5.0V operation giving users maximum flexibility."
