3/30/2004 - Legerity, Inc. solidified its position as the world’s dominant supplier and innovator of voice interface solutions with the announcement of its new VoiceEdgeTM architecture. The new architecture is a complete redesign optimized for packet voice application across the entire telecom landscape – from the central office to the customer premise.
The new architecture is comprised of more than 20 new products, headlined by the revolutionary VE790 and VE880 Series of products. The VE790 Series is focused on carrier applications, including central office, DSLAM and DLC. The VE880 Series is focused on consumer applications, such as voice-enabled cable and DSL modems. More details on these product families are being announced today at Voice on the Net and FastNet Futures in Santa Clara.
“This new architecture supplants the inefficient, patchwork silicon solutions being used to support packet voice today, making it cheaper and easier to deploy VoIP,” said Rick Beale, Legerity senior director of marketing. “The VoiceEdge architecture is a leapfrog concept that will catapult VoIP deployments throughout 2004 and into 2005.”
