3/26/2004 - IONA® (NASDAQ: IONA), a world leader in high performance integration solutions for mission critical IT environments, announced that the final instalment of its Webcast series “The Real World is Service Oriented” will take place on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 1:00 pm EST. Presented by widely recognized Web services expert and IONA CTO Eric Newcomer, Web Services Beyond SOAP; Using Web Services for Enterprise Integration, offers attendees an opportunity to learn how Web services can be extended to support multiple integration technologies while retaining the standards-based benefits associated with service-oriented architectures.
Newcomer’s Webcast follows successful presentations by IONA thought leaders Peter Cousins, Artix technical director and Steve Vinoski, chief engineer, product innovation. The series began with Cousins’ Business Agility And How to Get There; Implementing SOA to Address Practical Business Requirements, and was followed by Vinoski’s Building Out From CORBA; Extending CORBA to .NET, MQ, Tuxedo, TIBCO and JMS.
"Everyone knows that Web services are well suited to developing and implementing Service Oriented Architectures for lowering IT costs and improving the reuse of IT assets. But it's important to look beyond the basics and see how Web services can be used to easily and quickly integrate disparate software systems and applications, without compromising enterprise qualities of service," said Eric Newcomer, CTO, IONA Technologies. “This Webcast series is a significant part of IONA’s commitment to demonstrating how a service-oriented approach to integration can help companies generate value from their previous technology investments and achieve cost-effective interoperability across the enterprise, and beyond.”
