3/26/2004 - Brooktrout Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of media processing, network interface, call control and signal processing products, and Intervoice, the world leader in converged voice and data solutions, announced a strategic relationship that will provide future support of Brooktrout’s TR1000TM voice and speech platform on the Intervoice Omvia Voice Framework. This partnership is another proof point both for Intervoice’s standards-based framework and Brooktrout’s dedication to enabling partner support throughout the platform. Additionally, this alliance will further extend the flexibility of the Microsoft Speech Server 2004 deployment options.
The Intervoice Omvia Voice Framework delivers a flexible, modular and highly scaleable design that encourages the seamless integration of Web- and enterprise-based systems into intuitive, ROI-yielding, speech-enabled applications. This alliance and Brooktrout’s support for the Intervoice platform further underscores Intervoice’s commitment to open standards, as the integrated Intervoice and Brooktrout platform will support both the VoiceXML and SALT software standards, and will allow customers to take advantage of Brooktrout’s feature rich voice and speech platform.
“Customers now have the choice of an additional telephony option when developing on the industry-leading Intervoice platform,” said Eric Giler, president of Brooktrout. “Brooktrout and Intervoice will leverage their technology strengths to further develop the enterprise speech market.”
“We partnered with Brooktrout because of their broad product line and their strong reseller channel,” said Bob Ritchey, president of Intervoice. “We are working with Brooktrout to leverage their channel to reach out to a new generation of speech developers. End-users, resellers and application developers can take advantage of Brooktrout’s partnership programs, as well as the company’s knowledge of the enterprise. Together, Intervoice and Brooktrout will provide speech developers the feature-rich, high performance and standards-based environment they demand.”
Brooktrout’s TR1000 also includes enhanced high-level call control and additional operating system support. The TR1000 allows application vendors to streamline development, deploy broadly, and support their products more cost-effectively than with competing platforms. Ranging from 2 to 60 channels per board, the performance and flexibility of this feature-rich media platform allows systems to scale in both density and functionality to meet the current and evolving needs of advanced enterprise and service provider applications.
