Agilent Tours U.S. with Test System Design Seminars

3/24/2004 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced its 2004 U.S. Test System Design Seminar tour for test system engineers and technicians in the automotive, medical, industrial, communication, and aerospace and defense industries. Agilent test system experts will provide focused technical seminars and interactive sessions that include product demonstrations of the latest tools and technologies that minimize design time and obstacles and reduce cost in test system development.

Test system designers, working to develop accurate and repeatable test systems, are faced with increasingly sophisticated designs. Creating a test system within budget that also addresses noise, drift, connectivity, throughput speed and software bugs is a challenging task. At the 2004 Test System Design Seminar, Agilent experts will show how creative design practices can mitigate or eliminate these problems.

The seminars will include the following sessions:

  • "Test Automation: What the Future Holds" will discuss how to create the best test system and trends that will affect the way systems are designed in the future.
  • "Making Hardware Architecture Work for You" will introduce concepts of instrumentation speed/performance trade-offs and the architectural differences needed to understand them.
  • "Using the Right Software for Your Test System" will show how to select the appropriate software for your test system, including how to write an SRS (software requirements specification).
  • "Taking the Mystery out of I/O and Drivers" will provide insight on how to choose I/O hardware and software for your test system and the trade-offs between GPIB and PC standard interfaces such as USB and LAN.
  • "Putting the System Together" will discuss the best way to connect system instruments, including switches and DUT loads to each other and to a mass-interconnect interface.
  • "Optimizing Your Test System for Speed and Accuracy -- Faster, Better, Cheaper" will show the three goals of test, how to optimize a system by selecting the proper hardware and software, choosing the fastest test steps and test sequences, and moving data intelligently.

Additional information about the one-day seminars, U.S. locations, dates and registration is available at www.agilent.com/find/TestSystemSeminar.
