Sun Highlights Key Initiatives and Solutions for Mobile Profitability

3/22/2004 - At CTIA Wireless 2004, taking place March 22-24 in Atlanta, Ga., Sun Microsystems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SUNW) and its industry-leading partners will be on site to highlight key initiatives and solutions for enabling enterprises to bring their mobile data services to profitability - securely and efficiently.

Sun's CTIA Agenda

  • The President, CEO and Chairman of Sun Microsystems, Scott McNealy, will kick off the conference on March 22nd at 9:00 AM (EST) with a keynote presentation showcasing partner solutions and discussing industry trends, business models and IT strategies for driving mobile data service adoption. McNealy will highlight Sun's efforts to simplify operations across the wireless value chain, as well as its unique infinite-access security model, and its network computing infrastructure for secure, highly integrated subscriber asset management.
  • CTIA Wireless attendees also will get a chance to see live demos of some hot new mobility solutions from Sun and its partners in the Sun Partner Pavilion. Industry leaders such as Aligo, Amdocs, Appium, Convergys, Intervoice, IP Unity, Kabira, Leapstone Systems, Nuance, Pinnacle Data Systems, Pronto Networks, and Ulticom will be showcasing their joint Sun solutions.
  • On Tuesday, March 23rd at 1:00 PM (EST) Alan Brenner, vice president of Sun's Consumer and Mobile Systems Group, will be speaking on a panel with executives from Yahoo!, QUALCOMM, Openwave, Sprint Consumer Solutions and InfoSpace. The plenary panel will debate the steps necessary to overcome the fragmentation in the wireless market and to create a more unified ecosystem conducive to business profitability.
