Ceragon Operates Multiple Network Configurations with FibeAir 1500P

3/19/2004 - Ceragon Networks Ltd. (NASDAQ: CRNT), www.ceragon.com, a global provider of high-capacity broadband wireless systems, introduced FibeAir 1500P, an innovative, spectrally efficient compact radio capable of operating in multiple network configurations.

Combining spectral efficiency, hardware efficiency, modularity, flexibility and upgradeability in a single, compact, and cost-effective 1U system, Ceragon’s field-proven FibeAir 1500P is a breakthrough in the wireless point-to-point market.

Ceragon’s FibeAir 1500P uses state-of-the-art technology for ultra-high capacity voice, data, and video transmission. FibeAir 1500P supports protected (hot standby), space or frequency diversity and East-West configurations in the same indoor unit. It also supports point-to-point, ring, star, and cascaded chain topologies, with full add-drop multiplexing (ADM) functionality.

FibeAir 1500P operates in the 6 to 38 GHz frequency bands. It delivers ultra-high capacities of 100 to 622 Mbps over a 28/50/56 MHz channel using single or dual independent, hot-swappable carriers with a cross-polar interference canceller (XPIC) mechanism. Each carrier is equipped with a built-in software configurable modem, allowing 16, 32, 128 or 256 QAM modulation schemes, for improved spectrum utilization.

“FibeAir 1500P presents an extraordinary combination of advantages in a single, cost-effective, compact 1U system,” said Shraga Katz, president and CEO, Ceragon Networks Ltd. “It is a natural choice to meet the ever changing network requirements of carriers, both in the cellular and fixed operator markets, and for private networks and enterprises.”

Supporting a wide variety of interfaces (STM1/OC-3, E3/DS3, 100BaseTx and E1/T1), FibeAir 1500P can be seamlessly integrated in multiple networks using SDH/SONET, IP and ATM protocols. This enables operators to meet their growing network needs, and smoothly integrate current and next generation technologies. The innovative FibeAir 1500P presents a new and easy method of “on the fly” wireless network upgrade in accordance with network expansion requirements. Its optimize-as-you-grow capability will leverage operator and service provider capital and operating expenses.

As a member of the FibeAir family, FibeAir 1500P deploys state-of-the-art digital technology and can be controlled by CeraView®, Ceragon’s Java-based SNMP element manager, and PolyViewTM, Ceragon’s open interface network management system.

Ceragon will exhibit FibeAir 1500P from March 18 – 24 at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany (Hall 27, Stand B41/1) and from March 22 – 24 at CTIA in Atlanta, GA, USA (booth #2735).
