Over 20 KVA UPS Market Slow to Recover in Europe

3/19/2004 - According to a recent report by Venture Development Corporation, "The 2003 Power Protection Market Intelligence Program - Volume IV: Europe Over 20 KVA Battery UPS," the European market did not recover as well as the North American market for over 20 KVA UPSs between 2002 and 2003.

Of the top five European regions, only two demonstrated positive compound annual growth rates (CAGR) between 2002 and 2003:

  1. UK/Ireland 0.2% CAGR
  2. Germany -0.4% CAGR
  3. France -8.6% CAGR
  4. Italy 0.2% CAGR
  5. Eastern Europe 8.2% CAGR

However, VDC forecasts that consumption in the all European markets will begin to show positive growth within the next year. Growing the overall over 20KVA battery UPS market by 5.6% by 2006.
