3/18/2004 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced the availability of two application notes that demonstrate practical applications for Agilent's Connected Solutions. Connected Solutions is the integration of design-simulation software and design-verification hardware and test instrumentation to provide capabilities that cannot be delivered with EDA tools or instrumentation alone. Product development costs rise almost exponentially as development time increases. Agilent's Connected Solutions offer an effective way to shorten design cycle time, bringing products to market earlier and thus significantly lowering development costs.
Application Note 1471, "Agilent Technologies RF/IF-to-Digital Connected Solutions Bit Error Rate Using the Advanced Design System," is a 24-page note that explains how Connected Solutions can help BER (bit error rate) verification applications for RF/IF-to-digital receiver topologies. Verifying BER can present a real challenge to RF engineers. The note can be downloaded at http://literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5989-0024EN.pdf.
Application Note 1476-2, "Analyzing Infiniium Scope Radar Waveforms with Advanced Design System," explains how engineers can capture RF baseband signals with a high-sampling-rate oscilloscope and analyze these signals in time-domain with Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) software. This application note can be downloaded at http://literature.agilent.com/litweb/pdf/5989-0127EN.pdf.
