Compuware DevPartner and OptimalJ Win Readers' Choice Awards

These awards, chosen by the user community, recognize excellence in the software, solutions or services provided by the industry’s top vendors. Winners and finalists were announced during the EDGE 2004 East Conference and Expo in Boston on February 25.

Compuware DevPartner products were named finalists in three categories for .NET Developer’s Journal Readers Choice Awards: DevPartner Studio Enterprise Edition was second runner-up finalist in the “Best .NET Source Control and Team Facilitation” category; DevPartner Profiler Community Edition was second runner-up finalist in the “Best .NET Profilers, Optimizers, Decompilers and Obfuscators” category; and DevPartner Studio Professional Edition was third runner-up finalist in the “Best .NET Modeling, Optimization and Analysis Tools” category.

Compuware OptimalJ was named third runner-up finalist in the “Best Java Producer Platform” category for Java Developer’s Journal Readers Choice Awards.

“We are extremely honored that SYS-CON Media readers appreciate the value that the DevPartner and OptimalJ products bring to their .NET and Java development needs,” said Bob Barker, Vice President of Strategic Planning at Compuware Corporation. “Being recognized as a finalist for these awards further signifies Compuware’s strength and leadership in the .NET and J2EE development tools markets.”

Through submitted nominations and online voting, SYS-CON Media readers chose 292 finalists and winners, with one winner and three runner-up finalists being selected in each category.

“The purpose of our Readers’ Choice Awards program is to raise awareness of and support for first-class products, services and solutions within the business and technology communities,” said Fuat Kircaali, founder and CEO of SYS-CON Media. “These awards reflect the activism and engagement of our readers, and the high level of participation by the industry’s top vendors.”

Compuware DevPartner Studio Professional Edition provides an award-winning suite of software development tools that helps developers build reliable, high-performance applications and components for Microsoft .NET as well as native Windows platforms. Building new .NET applications that may integrate with native components and moving existing native applications to .NET are tasks prone to integration and migration problems, coding errors and problems with runtime performance and test coverage. DevPartner Studio helps to locate errors early, to tune runtime performance and to assure thorough testing of applications written in .NET, native code or a combination of the two.

Compuware OptimalJ is a Java development environment that generates working applications directly from visual models, leveraging patterns to implement best practices for coding to J2EE specs. It accelerates application delivery by simplifying Java development through the implementation of OMG’s Model-Driven Architecture (MDA), enabling a team of architects, designers and developers to rapidly produce reliable J2EE business applications.
