3/12/2004 - Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc. (FMA) will introduce its newest Phased Lock Loop (PLL) frequency synthesizers and DC/DC converters, along with a new series of Spread Spectrum Clock Generators (SSCGs) at the annual Wireless System Design Conference at the San Diego Convention Center March 8-10.
Aditya Agrawal, senior marketing manager at FMA, will discuss Fujitsu's leadership in the future of broadband wireless technology in a presentation entitled, "The Benefits of WiMAX Implementations for New Generation of Broadband Wireless Access" (Session W132). It is scheduled for March 8 beginning at 11 a.m.
DC/DC Converters, SSCGs Highlight New Product Display
Fujitsu's DC/DC converters - the MB39A112, the MB39A113 and the MB39A114 - meet the fast-changing power management requirements of portable and handheld devices. Each device uses pulse width modulation techniques to maximize performance.
The new MB88150 series of SSCGs are designed to reduce Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) that results from higher frequency operation and increased IC integration. They modulate clock frequencies to attenuate peak emissions in computers, printers, MP3 players, cell phones and other products that operate at increasingly higher frequencies. Peak radiation noise is reduced by slightly modulating oscillation frequencies with the internal modulator.
Trio of New Single Serial-Input PLLs Reduce Phase Noise
FMA's three new single-serial-input PLL frequency synthesizers feature a normalized noise floor of -218dBc/Hz or better, meeting the stringent requirements of GSM, PCS and high-frequency wireless applications. Each of the new PLLs - the MB15E05SR, the MB15E06SR and the MB15E07SR - incorporates separate charge pump power supply pins. The PLLs also have the ability to work with voltages as high as 5.5V, enabling their use in a broad range of wireless applications requiring a wide tuning range.
"These new power management devices, PLLs and spread spectrum clock generators deliver features and benefits that are vital for new generations of consumer and computer products," said Keith Horn, FMA's vice president of marketing. "Fujitsu has applied its expertise to deliver optimal device technology for customers who need a new level of overall performance in compact packages."
