Logitech Selects WIDCOMM's Bluetooth Software for Wireless Products

3/11/2004 - WIDCOMM Inc. announced that Logitech, the leading provider of cordless mice and keyboards, is now using WIDCOMM's Bluetooth Communications Software for Windows (BTW) to drive their Bluetooth product line of PC peripherals, which enable the Windows PC to become a wireless hub. WIDCOMM's software enables users to experience a cable-free desktop environment with the Logitech® MXTM900 Bluetooth® Mouse, Cordless Desktop® MXTM for Bluetooth® and the diNovoTM Media DesktopTM. In addition to providing Bluetooth wireless capabilities to Logitech's keyboard and mouse offerings, BTW supports wireless connectivity to multiple Bluetooth devices such as printers, mobile phones, PDAs, headsets, and more.

"Logitech selected the WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software as a component of our Bluetooth product offerings due to the company's reputation for providing the best implementation of Bluetooth wireless connectivity," said Denis Pavillard, director of product marketing for keyboards and desktops at Logitech. "The use of BTW software allowed Logitech to provide a superior Bluetooth experience to our customers."

"WIDCOMM's industry leading Bluetooth software enables companies like Logitech to bring cutting edge Bluetooth products with pervasive and seamless functionality. Our software simplifies wireless connectivity between the devices and offers natural product usage without complex configuration or management," said Ron Wong, WIDCOMM's director of product marketing. "Because our BTW product is generally deployed and shipping in mass production, Logitech could deliver products to their customers in the shortest possible time."

In 2000 WIDCOMM was the first company to bring BQB certified Bluetooth software to the world. Today, WIDCOMM is the dominant Bluetooth software and applications provider in the personal computing, laptop, PDA and computer peripheral markets. Other key WIDCOMM markets include mobile terminals, automotive and audiovisual.
