Triquint Debuts High Efficiency Quad-band Gsm Gprs Power Amp Module

3/9/2004 - TriQuint Semiconductor, Inc. (Nasdaq/FSE: TQNT) announced initial production shipments of a new high-efficiency, low-cost 7x7x1.3mm Quad-Band GSM GPRS power amplifier module (PAM). Unlike some competing solutions, the TQM7M4022 GSM PAM provides advanced internal voltage reference and power control functionality in a low pin-count package compatible with existing phone PCB board design and manufacturing techniques.

Design of the TQM7M4022 uses the high integration features of TriQuint’s second-generation InGaP HBT 150mm process to minimize application circuit complexity. Only two external components are required to complete the application circuit in most phone designs. The new module’s low pin-count (17) and minimal external SMDs required (2) provide good solderability and ease-of-use in PCB design and assembly. By focusing on complete ease-of-use – internal power control, internal reference voltage, small size, low pin-count, quad-band capability, low cost, high-efficiency, high ruggedness capability and a simple applications circuit – TriQuint offers customers a compelling GSM GPRS Quad-band PAM.
