White Electronic Rolls Out 4GB DDR SDRAM Memory Module

3/1/2004 - White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ:WEDC) is pleased to introduce its 4GB DDR SDRAM memory module. This module offers maximum system performance while being JEDEC compliant and meeting industry standards.

White’s new 4GB SDRAM is a 2 x 256M x 72 Double Data Rate (DDR) SDRAM memory module based on 1Gb DDR SDRAM components. The 1Gb DDR SDRAM uses a double data rate architecture to achieve high-speed operation. The module consists of thirty-six 1GB stacked DDR SDRAMs in 66 pin TSOP packages mounted on a 184 pin FR4 substrate.

Features include DDR architecture, DDR200 and DDR266. Bi-directional data strobes (DQS), differential clock inputs, programmable Read Latency 2 & 2.5 (clock) and Burst Length (2, 4 and 8). Locations are available for both sequential and the interleaved burst types. Other features include auto and self refresh, edge aligned data output and center aligned data input.

Synchronous design allows precise cycle control with the use of system clock. Data I/O transactions are possible on both edges and Burst Lengths allow the same device to be useful for a variety of high bandwidth, high performance memory system applications.

The new 4GB memory module is organized as 2 x 256M x 72. At 1.13 x 5.255 inches (28.68mm x 133.37mm) and a maximum .150 inches (3.81mm) package body thickness, the package meets the 1U height requirements for all server markets.

Pricing and Availability
White’s 4Gb SDRAM, part number WED3EG72512SXX-AJD3, is priced at $3,000.00 (US) each in volumes of 1,000 pieces with a lead-time of 4-6 weeks.
