2/26/2004 - Solid Information Technology Corp., the first provider of an Autonomic Data Management Platform, announced that it has forged a strategic relationship with Marathon International. This alliance enriches the robust ecosystem of partners that can deliver pre-tested and pre-integrated solutions to Solid customers.
Solid customers are building and shipping applications like SGSN and VoIP Switches that have stringent uptime SLAs. The relationship with Marathon International gives Solid customers additional confidence that they can field their application faster using Solid high availability databases on a Marathon International carrier grade platform. Solid’s proven ecosystem ensures faster time to market at lower development cost and lower Total Cost of Ownership.
Said Jussi Harvela, Solid president and CEO, “Many of our customers who are building network infrastructure applications select the Marathon International carrier grade platform as their hardware base. Our deepening relationship with Marathon International will ensure that our joint customers benefit from the best features of both of our products, ensuring faster time to market at lower cost.”
“The fundamental needs of our customers revolve around high-density, redundant mission-critical servers, and we have developed several new products that will set the standard for reliability and performance in a compact form factor,” said Jim Hall, Marathon International founder and CEO. “By teaming with Solid, we are able to offer mission-critical data management as part of our customer solution, further accelerating our customers’ time to market.”
Solid previously announced a similar strategic relationship with MontaVista Software at 3GSM World in 2003. At that time, Sheila Baker, vice president of marketing, MontaVista Software said “Solid and MontaVista Software are providing the premier embedded development system for very broad range products, ranging from smart devices to sophisticated communication infrastructure products. Together, MontaVista and Solid will enable equipment manufacturers worldwide to bring their products to market quicker while expanding the scalability of their products.”
About Solid Autonomic Data Management PlatformTM
The Solid Autonomic Data Management Platform is the first example of a data management solution that assures developers the data will take care of itself. The Solid platform supports the creation of applications that are self-configuring, self-healing, self-optimizing and self-protecting. The Solid Autonomic Data Management Platform is a software suite made up of three tightly coupled components:
This optimized combination is encapsulated in a low-maintenance framework to create an easy-to-manage platform that can take care of sophisticated data management needs in complex environments like network infrastructure applications running on blade servers. Solid customers realize dramatically reduced cost of development and reduced time to market. Their customers see a compellingly low total cost of ownership (TCO).
Solid Information Technology Corp. delivers the first next-generation Autonomic Data Management Platform. Built on a sophisticated architectural foundation, Solid’s solutions power inherently distributed applications in the network infrastructure, telematics, digital content delivery and retail applications. Small and large visionary companies including EMC, Hewlett-Packard, Lantern Communications, Nokia, Nortel, Turin Networks and Watercove Networks use Solid technology in their solutions to build high-performance, fault-tolerant, and scalable smart applications.
