BVRP and WIDCOMM Improve Bluetooth Functionality Between Devices

2/25/2004 - BVRP Software, a leading OEM provider of communications software, and WIDCOMM, leader in Bluetooth connectivity solutions for PCs, PDAs and Mobile Phones, announced that they have agreed to a long term partnership to offer simplified solutions for connecting PCs and PDAs with a mobile phone via Bluetooth.

"Bluetooth has proved to be a tremendous benefit to users who want the freedom of wireless connectivity and BVRP will build upon this strength while offering mobile users an improved installation and management process," said David Wright, BVRP OEM Division Director.

The BVRP and WIDCOMM partnership strengthen each company's product capabilities by offering the versatility of Bluetooth technology with improved functionality and ease of use.

BVRP offers a Windows based Pairing Wizard that installs on a desktop, laptop or PDA and simplifies Bluetooth connectivity to a mobile phone. The Pairing Wizard allows users to manage their handheld's data and files on their computer, guiding users through the entire connection process while helping to ensure that carrier specific settings are properly configured. By adding the BVRP Mobile Application to WIDCOMM's software solutions, users can leverage their Bluetooth capabilities by easily transferring data or audio between phones and other Bluetooth devices.

BVRP and WIDCOMM recently collaborated to offer an improved step-process for connecting a Motorola Bluetooth phone with a PC using Motorola's Bluetooth USB dongle and WIDCOMM's BTW software. This capability was added to mobile PhoneTools, giving the user not only a value-added software solution but also a simplified Bluetooth pairing process. WIDCOMM and BVRP are planning more projects that will bring enhanced functionality to Bluetooth implementations.

Arkady Shkolnik Vice President of Sales and Business Development for WIDCOMM said, "We are excited about the enhancements that our partnership with BVRP will bring to existing Bluetooth capabilities. Combining WIDCOMM's experience and expertise in Bluetooth and BVRP's expertise in Wireless Applications, including their ability to bring a user friendly solution to the market, will result in a win-win situation for BVRP and WIDCOMM. This collaboration will be a great advantage for our users."

"This is the first step in our collaboration and will be followed shortly with some new innovative technology solutions, such as advanced Audio/Video support and simplified automatic pairing solutions," added Wright.
