2/19/2004 - Primagraphics, the command & control, video and graphics specialist, has extended the capabilities of its radar tracking system, RVP Tracker, to provide support for moving platforms.
This enhancement will allow Primagraphics' Radar Video Processor (RVP) Tracker to be supported on ship and airborne platforms, where the motion of the platform needs to be considered for true measurement of target speed and heading.
The RVP Tracker provides an integrated capability for automatic target tracking from primary radar video. It may also be interfaced with a wide variety of radar types - including ACP/ARP, RADDS, ASDE-3 and specialised serial and parallel formats - and incorporates clutter-processing algorithms that provide enhanced signal quality for the plot extraction and tracking.
An innovative feature of RVP Tracker, which has been enhanced to support the moving platform application, is the distribution of radar video across a network. By using standard networking connections, the enhanced tracker allows a much broader range of display options. Since the same radar video is broadcast everywhere, low-cost and portable displays can receive a radar picture on demand, thereby avoiding the expensive distribution or acquisition costs of legacy solutions.
The RVP family is designed to provide a flexible, modular, cost-effective, commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution to a number of demanding applications including specialist air traffic control, aircraft ground movement, coastal surveillance and naval tracking systems.
RVP solutions are available in a wide range of form-factors, including VME, PCI and CompactPCI, and can be supplied as complete sub-systems in naval qualified enclosures.
