2/18/2004 - Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced it will host a free, eight-city seminar series featuring executives from Compuware and analysts from Gartner, Inc. The seminars, titled, "Connecting IT Value to Business--The Power of Application Service Management," will highlight practical approaches to helping IT operations evolve to an IT service management model that encompasses business-oriented IT services.
The half-day seminars--geared toward business executives, CIOs, and IT operations and applications managers--will be held in New York, Washington D.C., Toronto, Detroit, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas and Chicago from February 26 through March 3, 2004.
Executives from all industries are invited to attend the educational sessions, where they can network with senior Gartner analysts, Compuware executives and their peers. Each session will feature a presentation by a Gartner analyst focusing on how to develop an effective IT operations architecture and deliver on service goals. Analysts will also address related opportunities and challenges and offer tips on how to evolve toward IT service management. Additionally, experts from Compuware will present a practical approach detailing how IT organizations can engage the business and create an easy-to-implement game plan for service management. Customer case studies will demonstrate how organizations link IT value with business.
"Organizations are finally realizing the importance of utilizing their IT resources more efficiently to derive real value and ROI for the business," said Donna Scott, VP and Distinguished Analyst of Gartner. "Attendees will learn, from proven voices in the industry, tried and true strategies on how IT Operations and Infrastructure professionals can begin the shift to end-to-end IT service management."
Compuware Vantage 9 enables IT organizations to deliver service excellence by systematically and proactively improving application performance, as driven by business priorities. By monitoring application service from the end-user perspective rather than just monitoring infrastructure components, Vantage helps IT organizations identify and resolve problems before they impact the business. Vantage 9 provides additional value by uniting management-level views with end-to-end performance analysis capabilities.
"We designed this seminar series with Gartner specifically to help IT executives understand the benefits of transforming IT operations to an IT service management approach," said Larry Angeli, Vice President of Marketing, Compuware. "This is a great opportunity for participants to learn from experts about both the opportunities and challenges for IT service management and how aligning IT with business priorities is essential in today’s business climate."
