2/16/2004 - Barco is pleased to announce the introduction of its Embedded Visualization System 'EVS6000', the next generation high-performance graphics accelerator for 2D and 3D applications. The new rugged EVS6000 board is designed for integration in land-, sea- and air-based defense and security systems requiring high-performance graphics processing. With its broad video I/O capability, the EVS6000 offers a flexible solution for integration in a wide variety of applications, including vehicle embedded computers, embedded training and simulation systems, and cockpit displays. Barco's latest graphics controller comes as a PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) and is available both in convection-cooled and conduction-cooled formats.
By leveraging the latest graphics processor offered by 3Dlabs, the EVS6000 provides high-performance, dual-head graphics rendering with integrated high-performance video windowing. The board supports various open standards including PMC and conduction-cooled PMC form factors, NTSC and PAL video inputs, LVDS video output, NTSC and PAL video outputs, and DVI1.0 digital output.
Barco's new EVS6000 is another example of the high-grade expertise Barco has acquired in engineering state-of-the-art visualization solutions for the defense and security market space.
Product Manager Tom McLaughlin comments, "The new EVS6000 is the most flexible PMC graphics controller available on the market. It introduces state-of-the-art 2D and 3D graphics performance for the PMC form factor and goes a step beyond to implement real-time video processing solutions for embedded applications."
