Xilinx Springs Forward to Intel Developers Forum

2/16/2004 - Xilinx announced its active involvement in the Intel Developer Forum Spring 2004. The IDF conference program is focused on the innovations in computing and communications platforms. Xilinx plans to expand the "Serial Tsunami" initiative with a demonstration of new hardware development platform. In addition, Xilinx executive will participate in a keynote demonstration.

Xilinx participation features the latest connectivity solutions with high-speed serial technologies supporting any speed between 622 Mbps to 10 Gbps and beyond. These include a new hardware development platform with comprehensive offering of advanced IP cores, reference designs, and suite of cutting-edge embedded design tools and resources that address the full spectrum of connectivity requirements across the entire line card to the backplane.

"Communications and the Broadband Wireless Wave" Keynote
Xilinx to participate in Intel keynote with Sean Maloney on Thursday, February 19, 2004. Rich Sevcik, executive vice president, will unveil a demonstration platform that showcases new Xilinx offerings, highlighted by an ATM software application with Intel® network processors, Xilinx Virtex II ProTM FPGAs and IP cores.

Xilinx joint demonstrations include:

  • Solutions based on the PICMG AdvancedTCA standard in Intel Pavilion Booth # 42 and Intel Communications Alliance Booth #509
  • PCI Express interoperability in PCI Express Community Booth #626
  • Solutions for switch fabric and serial backplanes in Intel Communications Alliance Booth #509
