National Instruments Reduces Prices by 30% with Rupee Pricing

2/4/2004 - National Instruments India announced that customers now can purchase National Instruments products direct from India in rupees. This additional currency option reduces the cost of NI software and hardware by up to 30 percent for some customers in this region.

“National Instruments is committed to delivering innovative computer-based measurement and automation products and world-class services and support in India,” said Mr. Jayaram Pillai, managing director of National Instruments India. “The introduction of rupee pricing provides cost-effective solutions and hassle-free purchasing to customers. The rupee prices include all import charges, including customs duties. In addition, NI India will maintain local inventory resulting in faster delivery time of 48 hours and streamlined repair and replacement procedures.”

This introduction of rupee pricing is most beneficial to Indian companies that do not currently have customs exemptions and must pay import charges that greatly increase the landed costs of products. In addition to selling in rupees, National Instruments will continue to sell in U.S. dollars to provide customers with the currency option that most benefits their organization.
