2/2/2004 - Tektronix, Inc. (NYSE: TEK), the world leader in MPEG-2 compressed digital video test and measurement equipment, announced its MPEG Test Systems are now available in a new portable form factor for improved ease of use, and with a high performance processor that provides greatly increased analysis speeds.
MPEG test equipment validates designs and enables detection of system errors prior to them becoming a significant problem. They are used to check component, product and system designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards. In addition to the same robust and reliable functionality of previous Tektronix offerings, the new Tektronix AD953A MPEG Test System includes an integrated high-resolution display, making it easy and convenient to move the test system from lab to lab or offsite for commissioning tests.
The new test system also incorporates a high performance processor for greatly increased deferred time analysis speeds. A range of options provides various interfaces and additional analysis capabilities that meet the most demanding applications, enabling users to select the analysis capability required at time of purchase and add functionality when required.
"In response to customer research demonstrating the requirement for portability and faster fault finding in an MPEG Test System, we've packaged the broadest range and greatest depth of MPEG analysis in an ideal form factor," said Todd Biddle, Vice President, Video Product Line, Tektronix. "Checking compliance with relevant standards is a major concern for MPEG Test System users. In addition to the portability, the new speed capabilities of the AD953A ensure compliance and interoperability testing is comprehensive and can be completed quicker."
