12/20/2004 - Following last week’s announcement of PC Magazine’s Editors’ Choice award, the leading technology trade magazine has also named EmergeCore’s “IT IN A BOX”® product one of the Top 100 Products for 2004. The December 28 issue of PC Magazine that includes this announcement is available on newsstands today.
This issue of PC Magazine includes a competitive test of products in the all-in-one category. In addition to naming EmergeCore’s IT-100 the clear winner, the publication acknowledges the Top 100 Products for 2004. EmergeCore is recognized on this list as well. The Top 100 honor is the “IT IN A BOX” solution’s tenth major honor since mid 2003.
“We consider PC Magazine one of the most authoritative sources in the technology industry,” said Dave Brown, EmergeCore president and CEO. “To be considered one of PC Magazine’s top product picks for this year helps to clearly reinforce the direction the small business industry is taking. We are excited to play a role in bringing new technology to a market that didn’t have access to these levels of network and application capability before.”
The IT-100 all-in-one network solution for small to medium businesses sells for US$1,395. In addition to providing wired or wireless connectivity, basic network security and infrastructure, the IT-100 is the first network appliance in the industry to include a CRM (customer relationship management) application, which gives users the ability to manage centralized customer information and to share customer data across the entire organization. As PC Magazine noted, EmergeCore now includes the integrated CRM module with all IT IN A BOX products at no extra cost.
The IT IN A BOX solution not only saves businesses the up front cost of complex IT solutions, but it also allows SMB customers, which are defined as businesses of 25 users or less, to eliminate the need for costly IT support.
The IT IN A BOX appliance can support PCs, Macintosh workstations, Unix machines, or any device with an Ethernet or wireless access point, including laptops, Tablet PCs, PDAs, and smart phones.
The IT-100 is well suited for workgroups of 5-25 users. With additional processing power, a 16-port hub, and optional T1/E1 support, EmergeCore’s IT-500 product will support workgroups as large as 75.
