Aegis Assessments and Fortis Networks Target Central America

12/15/2004 - Scottsdale-based homeland defense contractor Aegis Assessments, Inc. (OTCBB: AGSI) announced that it has signed a Central American distribution agreement for its SafetyNet(TM) RadioBridge(TM) with Fortis Networks, Inc., a Phoenix-based provider of wireless and fiber optic networks, plant security systems, multi-school campus monitoring, environmental compliance monitoring, and plant security. Fortis Networks, Inc. is licensed and bonded in Arizona and is a minority business enterprise certified by the United States Department of Transportation and registered with the Building Industry Consulting Service International, Inc. as a communications distribution designer. In addition to providing surveillance and security systems and data networks to domestic customers, Fortis is currently providing quality control and engineering advisory services to the City of Phoenix on the replacement of the city's 800 MHz public safety radio system.

We are stepping up our marketing efforts in Canada and Mexico to take advantage of the North American Free Trade Agreement," said Aegis President Richard Reincke. "In addition, we are taking advantage of programs administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce to identify and enter into distribution relationships in the rest of the Western Hemisphere, including Central and South America. First responders from Canada to Argentina have the same problem -- a lack of radio interoperability. We're very excited to be working with Fortis Networks on marketing our SafetyNet(TM) RadioBridge(TM) throughout Central America," Mr. Reincke said.

The SafetyNet(TM) RadioBridge(TM) interconnects incompatible radios and bridges them beyond their normal capabilities to provide immediate radio interoperability at an emergency site. Fortis Networks' initial marketing efforts are focused on the Panama canal region, a hub for worldwide commerce. Fortis has purchased a RadioBridge(TM) and begun demonstrating the unit to law enforcement and other end-users in Panama.

The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is a regional agreement between the Government of Canada, the Government of the United Mexican States and the Government of the United States of America to implement a free trade area. Congress is also considering the adoption of the Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) modeled after NAFTA.
