12/10/2004 - Compuware (NASDAQ: CPWR) Corporation announced details of its Uniface application platform suite (APS). The Uniface application platform suite consists of the Compuware Uniface development environment, the Uniface Flow business process management solution and Uniface View, a web application delivery framework.
“Users looking for a consistent, reusable platform for their multiple application projects--and users looking for a focused platform for a composite-application project--will find APS offerings attractive,” said Massimo Pezzini, Vice President, Gartner, Inc. “APSs are positioned to become the ‘platform of choice’ for composite-software deployment.”
Compuware Uniface now delivers a complete solution for helping organizations become more productive, while scaling applications to meet the needs of the enterprise. Through its “open connectivity” capability, Uniface also helps organizations integrate to legacy platforms and emerging technologies. Uniface offers an end-to-end solution that allows a choice of stand-alone products and the ability to employ the complete solution.
The Compuware application platform suite provides functionality in three key areas:
“The Uniface Application Platform Suite provides Uniface users with a solution that covers the best of both worlds by having development, deployment, portal and business process solutions that can be used independently or combined together to provide a proven solution,” said Adrian Gosbell, Uniface Product Manager, Compuware. “The capabilities of Uniface are proven in the marketplace, and the APS suite offers customers a valuable Compuware solution.”
The value of the Uniface APS is further enhanced with the latest version of Uniface JTi and the new Uniface Query Tool. Uniface JTi is a thin client deployment solution offering the ability to deploy “zero administration” applications while maintaining the rich usability of a client server user interface. The Uniface Query Tool, previewed at CU2004, provides ad-hoc reporting capabilities for the end users of Uniface applications, enabling high quality reports to be generated from a simple wizard user interface.
The forthcoming Uniface 9 release, also previewed at CU2004, will further enhance the Uniface APS by including an advanced Integrated Development Environment (IDE), expanded international language support and automated deployment capabilities.
