11/15/2004 - AppForge, Inc., a leader in multi-platform mobile and wireless application development solutions, launched the AppForge Independent Software Vendors (ISV) Program. The AppForge ISV program is designed to serve ISV's who produce wireless software applications that are powered by AppForge. AppForge is committed to forming partnerships that allow us to bring the best mobile application solutions available on the market to our customers.
With the AppForge ISV Program, partners will receive a yearly subscription for specialized ISV development tools, which integrate the client software. ISV's can now have a streamlined solution for developing applications with AppForge. In addition, digital rights management is built-in and will automatically help developers prevent software piracy of their mobile applications. Specialized ISV Client File pricing is available through the ISV program. Additional benefits of the ISV program include access to marketing programs, technical training, roadmaps and development support.
"With the ever increasing number of mobile devices and operating systems, software companies are having a difficult time delivering their applications to market in a timely and consistent manner using traditional development techniques," said Gary Warren, Chairman and CEO of AppForge. "Instead of having to support multiple teams for development and quality assurance, our business model and technology allows software companies to focus on their application and not how to port it between various platforms. Our licensing models have been designed so any size software company can realize the increase in quality and savings AppForge offers."
With hundreds of mobile devices in the marketplace, AppForge helps both enterprises and ISV's to reduce development costs by 70 - 80 percent. This allows the developer to focus on business application logic and not on how to accommodate the myriad of devices that exist in the mobile space today. Additionally, software companies selling their products on the open market will be able to incorporate the Crossfire Client technology directly into their applications relieving their end customers from having to install two separate packages.
AppForge will be hosting a webinar at 1 p.m. EST on Thursday, Nov. 11 explaining the details and benefits of the ISV program. During this webinar, Gary Warren will cover the various market opportunities available to software companies basing their solutions on the AppForge platform. Please refer to the AppForge website www.appforge.com for sign up details.
For the Enterprise customers, AppForge is introducing the new Crossfire Client, which will replace what was formerly known as "Booster" or "Device Definition". A single Crossfire Client will support multiple custom applications within an enterprise. Volume discounts are now available to enterprise customers for the AppForge Client.
With the new business model, AppForge developers will now be responsible for distributing the old consumer booster from their websites. As of Dec. 1, the old consumer booster will no longer be available from the AppForge website.
