10/25/2004 - BSQUARE (Nasdaq: BSQR), a leading provider of smart device solutions, announced “Microsoft Windows CE 5.0” and “Migrating to CE 5.0,” two new training courses focused on the latest version of Microsoft’s popular operating system for embedded devices. Now developers can quickly gain the knowledge and skills they need to fully leverage the benefits of Microsoft Windows CE 5.0.
“Microsoft Windows CE 5.0” is an advanced five-day course in Windows CE 5.0 device development, featuring both presentation-style lectures and hands-on lab exercises. The curriculum covers all the new features of Windows CE 5.0 such as the Unified Build System, Error Reporting, and the simplified directory structure. Other topics include the new Windows CE 5.0 lexicon, OS tools and architecture, systems programming, build folders and commands, loading device drivers, system initialization and testing, debugging techniques, and advanced file system configuration.
Upon completion of the BSQUARE training, participants will have the knowledge and skills required to build, debug, and test a Windows CE 5.0-based device. The course is designed to deliver benefits to multiple audiences. Software platform engineers and board support engineers will gain greater familiarity with the tools used to port Windows CE to new hardware. Systems and application engineers will learn how to customize and deploy a Windows CE SDK.
BSQUARE’s “Migrating to CE 5.0” course provides the training necessary for experienced engineers familiar with Windows CE .NET 4.x to transition their skills to Windows CE 5.0, the latest release of the Windows CE operating system and development tools. This two-day course includes lectures and hands-on lab exercises covering the changes and enhancements introduced with the release of Windows CE 5.0.
The next available “Microsoft Windows CE 5.0” training courses from BSQUARE are in Bellevue, Washington on November 8-12 and December 6-10. Pricing is $2895 per student. The first “Migrating to CE 5.0” course is scheduled on December 13-14 for $1200 per student. BSQUARE technical experts are also available to conduct onsite training at a customer’s location. More information and online registration is available at www.bsquare.com or 888-820-4500.
Previous customers of BSQUARE’s CE training include Motorola, Texas Instruments, Symbol Technologies, and many other leading smart device makers. "BSQUARE's class for board support engineers was an excellent learning experience," said Chris Kavanagh, software developer at Symbol Technologies. "The breadth and the detailed presentation of the material made this course ideal for both novice and experienced Windows CE developers. Because the class size was limited, the instructor was able to digress and elaborate on details that pertained directly to what I was doing within my company."
