10/22/2004 - American Arium, an industry leader in hardware-assisted development tools, announced plans to support the new Intel® IXP23XX and Intel® IXP46X product lines. Arium offers exceptional debug solutions for these processors, be they the Intel® IXP2325 and Intel® IXP2350 network processors designed for access and edge applications, or the Intel® IXP460 and Intel® IXP465 network processors developed for small to medium enterprise communications and embedded applications.
"Intel continues to unveil network processors designed to meet and exceed customers' needs and improve their customers' time to market," said Arium's Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Jeff Acampora. "We have the same goal. Our mission is to provide comprehensive and user-friendly debugging tools so that software developers can move quickly through the final stage of code development, minimizing their debug time by working in a robust, fully integrated debug environment."
American Arium's tools for the Intel IXP23XX and IXP46X product lines include SourcePointTM, its flagship debugger, and the LC-500 JTAG emulator. Arium debug solutions incorporate state-of-the-art hardware functionality and a feature-rich set of emulation options for excellent manipulation of code. The debugger offers exceptional visibility to code, incorporates the real time trace capability of the Intel XScale® microarchitecture, includes a robust command language, and works with today’s most popular compilers. New features in the latest version of the debug interface, SourcePoint 6.1, include code profiling, emulator hot plugging, and an improved IDE (Integrated Development Environment). SourcePoint 6.1 also supports kernel and applications debug on targets running the Linux OS.
"Our two new network processor product lines are enabling a wide variety of applications from DSLAMs with the IXP23XX to industrial automation and control equipment with the IXP46X," said Doug David, vice president, Intel Communications Group and general manager, Intel Infrastructure Processor Division. "Having common software debugging tools, like those from American Arium, available in conjunction with the introduction of our new processors can enable a faster development cycle across our customers' product lines."
