10/20/2004 - Cypress Semiconductor (NYSE: CY) announced the production release of its CynapseTM Software Platform (SP), providing networking vendors with a common control-plane API that supports Cypress’s entire portfolio of TCAM-based and Algorithmic-based network search engines (NSEs). Cynapse SP allows software developers to fully develop and simulate applications prior to instantiation in hardware to accelerate time-to-market.
Cynapse SP provides production-ready code to be used directly in a customer’s control plane, saving developers’ time and allowing them to take advantage of Cypress’s entire search portfolio to create an optimized search solution. The platform has been developed around a common table-management API, enabling developers to focus on the development and optimization of application code as opposed to the implementation of table management functionality. Developers can easily migrate across Cypress NSE solutions in hardware and leverage the same application code as search requirements change across multiple generations. Cynapse SP supports standard real-time operating environments including VxWorks, Linux, Solaris, and Windows platforms.
