Summit Joins European Electronic Chips and Systems Design Initiative

10/7/2004 - Summit Design, Inc., the world leader in electronic system-level (ESL) design solutions and methodologies, announced that it has joined the European Electronic Chips and Systems design Initiative (ECSI) as an Industrial Associate Member. Summit Design plans to contribute to ECSI through its research and development projects, participation in technical workshops and institute courses of the organization, as well as through an exchange of knowledge and best electronic system-level practices.

"ECSI provides the European community with an excellent vehicle to drive greater ESL efficiencies and to identify the best practices for successful System-on-chip modeling, design and verification," said Rami Rachamim, Summit Design's Vice President of Marketing. "We look forward to bringing our worldwide customer experiences and unique ESL expertise in transaction-level modeling and performance analysis to the growing membership of the European Electronic Chips and Systems design Initiative, to drive greater ESL adoption and a more productive design flow."

"ECSI is pleased to have Summit Design join our ranks as we strive to promote the appropriate design paradigms to address the growing complexity in system chip design and verification." said Kari Tiensyrjä, ESCI President. "We have a number of activities and projects underway that can benefit from the talents and expertise of the Summit team."

About ECSI
The European Electronic Chips & Systems design Initiative (ECSI) is a European non-profit association, established in 1993 by the large industrial developers of electronic systems and manufacturers of integrated circuits in Europe (the member companies in 2004 are among others ST Microelectronics, ARM, Nokia, Intracom, Alcatel, Thales, Thomson, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, ...) with participation of SMEs (Prosilog, Summit Design, Celoxica, Evatronix, ...), and many academic and research centres which bring leading edge expertise on design methodologies, techniques and standards. The ECSI mission and objective is to identify, develop and promote efficient methods for electronic systems design, as well as to provide ECSI members with a competitive advantage in this domain.
