Datang Microelectronics Selects Agilent 93000 SOC for Communications Test

10/7/2004 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that Datang Microelectronics Technology has selected the industry-leading Agilent 93000 SOC Series for testing its latest and most advanced communications SOC. This endorsement from China's largest design house confirms the strength of the 93000 SOC Series for testing advanced mixed-signal devices.

Datang selected the 93000 SOC Series to test its communication-oriented integrated information processor (COMIP). This device supports analog/digital baseband processing and audio/video processing used in many consumer electronics applications, including multimedia and mobile phones. High-volume production of the COMIP is anticipated due to the growth of China's communications market.

"As China's SOC design and manufacturing industry continues to grow exponentially, companies there are looking for test solutions that meet their functionality requirements and help them integrate with the supply chain," said Tom Newsom, vice president and general manager of Agilent's SOC Business Unit. "Datang's selection of the Agilent SOC 93000 Series for the company's latest communications SOC reinforces the value of our single, scalable platform architecture."

"The flexibility and performance of the Agilent 93000 SOC Series enabled us to test accurately this complex, mixed-signal SOC, which includes analog and video cores," said Yan-Hui Yang, vice president of Datang. "The support provided by Agilent in China allowed us to ramp up to production with the 93000 quickly, allowing for easier integration with our supply chain."

About the Agilent 93000 SOC Series
The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is the industry's fastest-growing, lowest-cost single, scalable platform architecture with more than 800 installed systems worldwide. The Agilent 93000 SOC Series is designed to meet both the demanding performance and cost challenges of SOC testing. Models are configured to span the widest range of applications that may require ultra-high-speed digital data rates, up to 10 Gb/s, and the broadest range of mixed-signal and RF capabilities. With this range of capabilities, the 93000 SOC Series is the first choice for subcontract manufacturers and the preference for high-volume manufacturing. More information is available at
