CycloneBot Battles with Altera Technology at Robot Fighting League

10/7/2004 - The CycloneBot will be competing in the Robot Fighting League 2004 National Championship Series October 8-10 in San Francisco. Designed and built by CM Robotics, the CycloneBot utilizes an Altera (NASDAQ: ALTR) CycloneTM FPGA and Nios® soft-core processor.

The CycloneBot’s two wheels spin at over 400 rpm, with the speed of each wheel constantly modified to induce directional movement. The Cyclone FPGA embedded with a Nios processor provides the processing power needed to manage motor speeds, directional sensors, and an algorithm that controls movement while the CycloneBot spins.
