10/1/2004 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that its Network Optimization Platform now supports all CDMA technologies, including 1X-EVDO, enabling service providers to ensure performance for high-speed wireless broadband networks. The solution helps radio frequency (RF) engineers test, troubleshoot and optimize data and multimedia services. This end-to-end network testing solution is the most comprehensive in the industry, correlating RF measurements and subscribers' service experience to reduce troubleshooting and problem-resolution time, producing a higher-performing network and better quality of service (QoS).
Agilent's automated data testing generates real-use traffic, such as website browsing, MP3 file downloads and FTP data transfers. Call drops and blocks, service availability, signal strength, capacity and other key performance indicators are captured and fed into user-friendly visualization and analysis tools to give RF engineers insight into their network's air interface performance.
"To capture their share of the lucrative high-speed wireless broadband market, CDMA service providers need to ensure high QoS to keep subscribers from defecting to competitive carriers," said Steve Witt, general manager and vice president of Agilent's Network Systems Test Division. "Agilent solutions test performance throughout the service life cycle -- from initial testing and limited introduction to full deployment -- ensuring subscribers get a positive service experience."
