1/30/2004 - Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX:ICS), a global leader in creating, networking and managing specialized, intelligent devices, announced Johnson Controls Inc., a global leader in facility management and controls, has signed a significant licensing agreement with Intrinsyc for its device provisioning and management software. As part of the agreement, valued in excess of CAD $250,000, Johnson Controls will integrate Intrinsyc's software into its Metasys building automation system.
Intrinsyc's device management software remotely provisions, downloads and updates operating systems and applications on the company's Metasys system-level controllers. For example, with Intrinsyc's device management software, building managers can remotely update a facility's HVAC systems management software running on devices located throughout the building without sending a maintenance person to manually update each device on-site. This increased control over the devices and systems will allow building managers to make timely facility management decisions, ensure building systems operate more efficiently, and ultimately enable them to effectively manage building maintenance costs.
"Fortune 500 companies have come to realize the value of managing widely dispersed, intelligent devices over the Internet," said Derek Spratt, President and Chief Executive Officer, Intrinsyc Software. "Embedded technology surrounds us everyday - even in the buildings we work or live in. Our device management solutions bring a new level of functionality to this increasingly pervasive technology and help companies improve productivity, competitiveness, customer satisfaction and return on investment. This agreement provides a tremendous opportunity for Intrinsyc, and illustrates the extent to which we are capable of delivering an end-to-end solution.
