1/30/2004 - Cadence has appointed Tim Barnes as Vice President of Marketing for the company's activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Barnes will hold overall responsibility for the communication of Cadence's platform, product and services portfolio to its markets across these geographies. He has been a senior Cadence executive both in EMEA and in the US for more than a decade, most recently as Vice President of Corporate Strategy.
Barnes returns to Cadence's European headquarters, Bracknell, UK, after spending a total of 6 years in the company's corporate headquarters in San Jose, California, US. He will report to Guillaume d'Eyssautier, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Cadence EMEA.

Having begun his electronics career at Fairchild Semiconductor and later National Semiconductor, Barnes joined Cadence in 1989. His roles have included engineering management, and product and strategic marketing. Subsequently he was appointed Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Simplex, which was acquired by Cadence in 2002. Since the acquisition he has held the position of Vice President of Corporate Strategy.
Barnes has earned Degrees in English Literature, Computer Science, Building Science and Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
