WEDC Launches 72 Bit Registered ECC, DDR SDRAM DIMM Modules

1/26/2004 - White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ:WEDC) introduces their new family of 72 Bit Registered ECC, DDR SDRAM DIMM Modules.

White’s new 72 bit wide modules provide exceptional density in various Asynchronous SDRAM memory configurations. Providing a high data transfer rate and low profile makes these 72 bit modules ideal for server applications, workstations and super computers.

Features include DDR architecture with two data transfers per clock cycle, clock speeds of 100MHz (DDR200), 133 MHz (DDR266) and 166MHz (DDR333) and programmable Read Latency 2 & 2.5 (clock). Other features include Registered, Phase Lock Loop and serial PD Chip mounted. These modules meet industry standards and are JEDEC compliant while offering the maximum system performance available for the server market.

The new memory modules are organized as 1GB density, 64M x 4 stacked or 128M x 4 mono. The 2GB density is available as 128M x 4 stacked or 256M x 4 mono. Each module consists of eighteen, 256M x 4 DDR SDRAM in 66 pin Thin Small Outline Packages (TSOP) mounted on 184 pin FR4 substrates.

At 1.2 x 5.255 inches (30.48mm x 133.48mm) with a maximum .150 inches (3.81mm) mono package body thickness and .260 inches (6.604mm) stacked, the packages meet the 1U height requirements for all server markets. Additionally, simulation models in the Electronic Board Description format (.EBD) are available.
