Fujitsu Europe Partners with Northamber to Scan SME Market

1/23/2004 - Fujitsu Europe announces a new partnership with Northamber, the largest independent UK-owned trade-only distributor of computer hardware and peripherals. Under the agreement, Northamber will act as a distributor for resellers keen to carve out a new market within existing small business customers by offering the innovative ScanSnap!, the most affordable duplex desktop scanner on the market. Northamber will also offer support for Fujitsu’s other market-leading low volume scanning products, including the fi-4120C and fi-4220C scanners. These office document scanners have become the de-facto standard for fast desktop document capture around the world.

Northamber comments: "We’re delighted to be working with Fujitsu Europe on very exciting products. Fujitsu has been making fast document scanners for over twenty years and is now the market leader, with over 50% of the market share. It has a wide variety of market leading products, which resellers can use to substantially boost sales. ScanSnap! in particular looks set to carve out a new market in the office market reaching individuals who need the performance that traditional flatbed scanners simply can’t offer.

"We’re hoping that attracting this untapped market for those individuals who want to electronically scan, store and distribute paper within their office will reap considerable benefits for both us and our customers.”

As David Whitton, Business Manager, Scanner Products, Fujitsu Europe Ltd, explains: "We already have very well established partnerships to reach the high end scanner market, but were looking to expand our reach to the critical SME market with new affordable product offerings such as ScanSnap! We believe that Northamber is perfectly placed to help us to reach this market and we’re excited about working with them."
