TDC Mobile Selects Agilent OSS Service Assurance Solutions

1/13/2004 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced that TDC Mobile, part of TDC A/S (the national carrier in Denmark), has selected Agilent OSS service assurance solutions to manage its GPRS services. The OSS solutions will enable TDC Mobile to resolve problems faster, increase and document quality of service (QoS), and significantly improve customer service for subscribers and roamers.

"Delivering the highest quality of service and ensuring a positive customer experience are critical components of our GPRS strategy," said Keld Schmidt-Moller, head of data switching department in TDC Mobile. "With Agilent OSS solutions, we can detect and resolve problems faster, and measure and report on end-to-end service quality. Also, these new tools will deliver powerful troubleshooting capabilities to increase the effectiveness of the first-line customer services organization when responding to customer-reported problems."

"As the leading mobile carrier in Denmark, TDC Mobile continues to deliver new levels of service quality," said Tom Walls, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Telecommunication Systems Division. "We are pleased that TDC Mobile has expanded its use of Agilent OSS solutions to manage its GPRS services with our integrated service assurance products. By monitoring key performance indicators for a specific group of users, TDC Mobile can ensure high QoS and better meet its service level agreement commitments."

TDC Mobile purchased the Agilent GPRS QoS Analyzer, GPRS Session Analyzer, Session Trace and GPRS Roaming Management System solutions.

About Agilent OSS GPRS Solutions
The Agilent OSS GPRS QoS Analyzer monitors and troubleshoots in real time to provide a comprehensive, independent view of network and service health, which allows users to detect and diagnose problems with infrastructure, content providers, IP connectivity partners and more.

The Agilent OSS GPRS Session Analyzer provides real-time and historical troubleshooting of problems reported by customers or fault management alarms, performs intelligent analysis of an individual subscriber's GPRS connectivity, and presents results in an easy-to-use format.

The Agilent OSS Session Trace is an advanced real-time and historical troubleshooting tool that shows a subscriber's interaction with the GPRS network, including full drill-down to decodes of the individual signaling messages. When used in conjunction with the Call Trace and Protocol Analysis applications, it provides detailed information from all GPRS and GSM signaling interfaces.

The Agilent Roaming Management System has been extended to monitor the quality of roaming GPRS service in real time. By quickly pinpointing roaming faults and enabling reduced mean-time-to-repair, service providers can maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and reduce churn rates. It provides visibility of service quality for roamers in a service provider's domestic network or for their subscribers roaming internationally.
