1/9/2004 - Magma Design Automation Inc. (Nasdaq: LAVA), a provider of chip design solutions, has partnered with Sandeepani, a division of CG-CoreEL and a leading provider of VLSI training in India, to offer a new PG Diploma Program in integrated circuit (IC) design. The program will focus on an integrated RTL-to-GDSII design methodology that is based on Magma's software. Through this program Magma and CG-CoreEL will provide IC designers with in-depth training on cutting-edge technology, enabling them to meet the performance and time-to-market requirements of next-generation ICs.
"The combination of CG-CoreEL's proven technical capabilities and market expertise and Magma's integrated RTL-to-GDSII design system will make this program a must for engineers who want to be skilled in using best-in-class IC implementation technology," said Anand Anandkumar, managing director of Magma Design Automation India. "By partnering with CG-CoreEL on the PG Diploma program, we can quickly increase the number of trained IC designers in India."
"Through careful analysis of all the electronic design automation products on the market, we have found that Magma's are radically changing the way digital ICs are being designed," said Ramesh Babu, managing director, CG CoreEL India. "By training engineers on Magma's technology, we can address the manpower shortage that threatens the growth potential of the IC design market in India. Magma's technology leadership and Sandeepani's highly acclaimed course content and delivery methods make for a highly synergistic partnership that will contribute to the success of IC design houses in India."
Magma provides leading software for designing highly complex integrated circuits while maximizing Quality of Results with respect to area, timing and power, and at the same time reducing overall design cycles and costs. Magma provides a complete RTL-to-GDSII design flow that includes prototyping, synthesis, place & route, and signal and power integrity chip design capabilities in a single executable, offering "The Fastest Path from RTL to Silicon"TM. Magma's software also includes products for advanced physical synthesis and architecture development tools for programmable logic devices (PLDs); capacitance extraction; and characterization and modeling.
