1/8/2004 - TeamF1, Inc., the leader in high performance and low-resource embedded security solutions, announced immediate availability of its V-IPSecure product for MontaVista Linux Professional and MontaVista Linux Carrier Grade Editions.
V-IPSecure is a high-performance, robust and lean implementation of IPsec and IKE protocols for IPv4 and IPv6. V-IPSecure's implementation of these protocols provides a high-quality cryptography-based communication channel setup on embedded systems running Linux. Its end-to-end securing of IP datagrams prevents access or modification of any information from above the IP layer, when passing through intermediate nodes in a public network, thus enabling secure virtual private networks (VPN) to be carved out of a public and/or insecure network.
"Network security for embedded Linux is becoming increasingly important and TeamF1 is committed to providing leading edge solutions in that field," said Vinai Kolli, Vice President of Engineering and co-founder of TeamF1. "MontaVista Linux’s real-time scheduling features and extensive support for Linux Support Packages (LSPs) on a variety of hardware platforms, combined with our standards-based, robust implementation of IPsec and IKE, enable our mutual customers to add superior IPv4 and IPv6 security to their embedded devices."
"Internet connectivity is changing the face of embedded systems, which must now emphasize security on a par with other functionality," said Sheila Baker, vice president, Marketing MontaVista Software. "Network equipment makers are increasingly turning to embedded Linux, and demand compatible security solutions such as solutions provided by TeamF1. We are delighted to offer customers, joint solutions with TeamF1."
V-IPSecure is the newest member of TeamF1’s SSecure family of products and is immediately available for royalty-free licensing directly from TeamF1 and through its channel partners.
