Cypress Discuss Design Challenges of Data Communications ICs

9/29/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor (NYSE: CY) announced that four of the company’s technical experts will present papers at the 2003 Communications Design Conference on October 1st and 2nd, 2003 at the San Jose Convention Center.

The Communications Design Conference brings technical managers and design engineers together to discuss architectural challenges related to designing OEM communications systems and equipment for small office, enterprise and WAN infrastructure applications.

Papers to be presented by Cypress’s data communications experts include:

  • “Photonic Switching, Distributed Routing, and Ultra-fast Packet Forwarding,” an overview of complex packet processing functions, to be presented on October 1 at 8:45 a.m. by Deepak Sharma, senior product manager, and Vishal Sharma, president and principal consultant, Metanoia, Inc.
  • “Low Order SONET/SDH Channels for Metro - How Many?,” a presentation about low-order virtual network tributaries, to be presented by James Lie, senior applications engineer, on October 1 at 3:45 p.m.
  • “Packetizing Optical Network Metro Rings,” a discussion of efficient packet data transport protocol for SONET/SDH-based ring architectures, to be presented on October 2 at 2:00 p.m. by Pankaj Jha, principal architect.
  • “GFP Implementation Tradeoffs,” a presentation on generic framing procedure, to be held October 2 at 2:00 p.m. and presented by Jason Baumbach, staff applicatons engineer.
