Cypress, Avnet Explain How Video Standards Affect Physical Layer

9/26/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:CY) announced that it will host a one-hour net seminar entitled “Physical Layers and Video Standards: Solving Customer Design Challenges.” The seminar, to be hosted in conjunction with semiconductor distribution specialist Avnet Cilicon, will center on the evolution of the SMPTE and DVB-ASI video standards and how they affect physical-layer device requirements. The presentation will also discuss video data streams, SERDES requirements, and equipment design challenges, as well as how Cypress has leveraged years of physical-layer technology leadership to resolve today’s video design challenges.

Cypress Data Communication Division experts Erin Kettwig, physical-layer product manager, and Cory Getty, physical-layer product applications manager, will delve into professional video equipment and some of the challenges that designers encounter when using physical layers, as well as the solutions that can alleviate these challenges.
