(Nasdaq: LTRX), announced a significant upgrade to the feature set of the company’s line of ActiveLinxTM Secure Console Servers (SCS) that accelerates the configuration process for one or multiple SCS products, helps troubleshoot network equipment to which SCS products are attached, and reduces the risk of unauthorized access through enhanced authentication and security measures. These new features, along with currently available support for Windows 2003 Emergency Management Services (EMS), make SCS products ideal for network administrators who need to securely and/or remotely manage any type of network equipment.

The new features are immediately available via a firmware upgrade that may be downloaded from the Lantronix FTP site onto currently deployed ActiveLinx SCS820, SCS1620, SCS3205 and SCS4805 models at no charge. In addition, to help simplify future product enhancements, a remote-upgrade feature in the new firmware ensures that users can always access the latest version through a download command that retrieves an upgrade.
