9/19/2003 - Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) announced an agreement with Design Sales Network (DSN) to support its increasing sales activities in France. DSN will augment Altera’s European sales and distribution channel led by Arrow Electronics, Tekelec, and EBV Electronic. DSN was selected by Altera for its strong technical and sales expertise.
“We are looking forward to joining forces with the Altera team to expand the reach of programmable logic into new markets,” said Jean-Jacques Plane product line manager, at DSN. “The addition of the world’s best programmable solutions to our product line gives our customers in France access to a technology that will enable their products to win in their marketplace.”
Altera’s three newest product families, the high-performance StratixTM, low-cost CycloneTM, and transceiver-based Stratix GX FPGAs, take programmable logic deeper and wider into new applications and end markets. In June of this year, Altera unveiled its HardCopy StratixTM devices, the industry’s only complete prototype-to-volume production solution for high-density designs, taking full advantage of the flexibility, features, and time-to-market benefits of Altera’s industry-leading Stratix FPGAs.
“With the launch of our Cyclone, Stratix, and Stratix GX FPGAs in 2002, we have considerably widened our sales opportunities into new markets,” said Jacques Le Béguec, southern Europe Manager at Altera. “By partnering with DSN and reinforcing our sales team, we are able to provide customers with flawless technical and sales support.”
Design Sales Network is a new French company. The three founders of this “Demand Creation Specialists” company have an extensive technical and sales background, which includes experience working for manufacturer’s representative. Their strength comes in having over 30 years of accumulated FPGA experience, and thus, a perfect understanding of this market.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) is the world’s pioneer in system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions. Combining programmable logic technology with software tools, intellectual property, and technical services, Altera provides high-value programmable solutions to approximately 14,000 customers worldwide.
