Icon Labs Distributes Wind River's WindManage for Linux, Solaris, BSD

9/17/2003 - Icon Labs (Icon Laboratories, Inc.) a leading provider of embedded network solutions announced that it has entered into a value added resellers agreement with Wind River Systems to distribute the Wind®Manage SNMP, CLI and Web device management software suite. The announcement was made at the Embedded Systems Conference Boston, Hynes Convention Center where Icon Labs is exhibiting the products in booth #1009. Icon Labs is porting and making available Wind®Manage SNMP (formerly known as Envoy SNMP) and the Wind®Manage CLI and Web device management tools (formerly known as RapidControl) as separate products targeting the Linux, Solaris and BSD operating systems.

“We are excited to enter this agreement with Wind River and make available the Wind®Manage software for Linux, Solaris and BSD operating systems”, says Alan Grau, president of Icon Labs. “Embedded system developers using these operating systems will benefit by the availability of Wind®Manage device management software to create smart SNMP, CLI and Web enable devices.”

Icon Labs is marketing the SNMP and device management software under their original, brand names of Envoy and RapidControl. The Envoy SNMP toolkit is the renowned SNMP toolkit for embedded systems supporting a MIB II agent and MIB compiler for SNMP v1, v2c, v3 and AgentX agents. The toolkit works with Icon Labs’ SNMP IQ rapid application development tool and visual MIB editor. RapidControl CLI, Web and MIBway features a powerful visual editor allowing developers to easily create Web and CLI management interfaces for embedded devices.

“The Wind®Manage SNMP, CLI and Web software components are the most productive device management tools for embedded systems”, says Glenn Flinchbaugh, Director of Market Development for Network Infrastructure products at Wind River Systems. “We are pleased to work with Icon Labs and make these products available on multiple operating environments. Our relationship with Icon Labs allows Wind River to expand their market share by supporting these platforms for standalone operation and with VxWorks platforms for hybrid systems.”

Envoy v9.3 for Linux, Solaris and BSD is available now and supports configurations for SNMP v1, v2c, v3 and AgentX. RapidConrol v3.4 for Linux, Solaris and BSD is available now with CLI, Web and MIBway.
