Kontron Creates PCI-X Expansion System with 7 Slots for 2U Platform

9/17/2003 - Kontron, a leading embedded computer technology company, introduced the DAFS-2U PCI-X Expansion System.

Featuring up to seven PCI-X slots in a 19-inch, 2U rack-mountable platform, the DAFS-2U incorporates Kontron's EMB-DE7501-G2 motherboard, featuring either single or dual Intel Xeon P4 processors with speeds up to 3.06GHz and 256MB to 8GB of DDR registered ECC. Connections include two serial ports, one parallel port, one front accessible USB 2.0 port, and three rear accessible USB ports.

With OEM customization available, the DAFS-2U features a cold-rolled steel construction with clear zinc plating -- tailored for applications in military, broadcast and other challenging environments. It also features independent PCI-X buses, three 50.6 CFM cooling fans for a wide operating temperature range, and operating system support for Windows® 2000/NT/XP and Linux.
