Advanced Switching Usage Models
In this session, Xilinx and Agere will explore application usage models for PCI Express and advanced switching in communications applications. Attendees will learn how to implement PCI Express as a chip-to-chip interconnect in communications products. Overviews of implementing advanced switching as a fabric and switched interconnect in communications applications will be given.

Xilinx In-Booth Demonstrations - Booth #135

PCI Express
The world's first complete PCI Express rev 1.0A compatible solution will be shown in Xilinx booth #135. The demonstration will showcase the Xilinx Real-PCI Express IP core implemented in Virtex-II ProTM 2VP7 FPGA on a PCI Express endpoint card interoperating with a PCI Express host. Both the host and the endpoint hardware is based upon standard exerciser products from NitAl.

  • Xilinx Real-PCI Express core compatible to the PCI Express Base Specification v1.0A
  • Interoperability between the PCI Express core implemented in a Virtex-II Pro FPGA and a PCI Express host
  • RocketIOTM transceivers for the 2.5 Gbps PCI Express x1 link
  • A user application running on the IBM PowerPCTM processor
