9/15/2003 - Applied Data Systems (ADS) announced that Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) has selected the company as a Gold-level member in the Systems Integrator category of the Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner (WEP) Program, the highest level granted to Windows Embedded partners.
The WEP Gold level identifies a select number of best-in-class Systems Integrators, Silicon Vendors and others who have successfully demonstrated technological expertise and leadership in the Windows Embedded platforms and tools community. ADS' selection as a Systems Integrator (SI) in this exclusive worldwide program demonstrates the value-add and expertise the company brings to the market for Windows Powered device solutions on its RISC-based systems.
"Microsoft is pleased to announce ADS as a Windows Embedded Partner Gold-level member. ADS is a best-of-breed systems integrator providing professional services and engineering skills to enable manufacturers to best leverage the new networking and communications features of Windows CE .NET 4.2. This will enable them to enhance the next generation of smart, connected and small-footprint devices," said Scott Horn, director of the Embedded Devices Group at Microsoft.
"We are honored to be selected for this prestigious partnership level within the Windows Embedded Partner program," said Robert Olsen, president of ADS. "Our long-standing relationship with Microsoft facilitates our ability to provide next generation solutions."
ADS systems are RISC-based (XScale, ARM) "application-ready" embedded technologies, and include a custom or semi-custom hardware platform, the low level software and BSP, all the device interfaces needed in the application, and the operating system port. ADS is known for providing fast time to market solutions, and the most dependable systems in the embedded industry, which are accelerated by Windows CE's rich library of drivers and development tools.
Applications leverage ADS technology features such as its low power consumption for battery operation, comprehensive I/O spanning USB to Ethernet, rich graphics to 16 bit color XGA, ruggedized characteristics that include -40 to +85degC, and flexibility for wireless and GPS systems.
The WEP Gold-level SI Program was established to enable customers to more easily identify companies that have demonstrated excellence in designing and enabling Windows Powered solutions. Gold-level systems integrators are directly engaged in improving the Windows Embedded platform and have an established commitment to the embedded community.
