9/12/2003 - Cypress Semiconductor (NYSE: CY) announced that it will participate in the Intel Developers Forum (IDF) to be held at the McEnry Convention Center, San Jose, California from September 16 through September 18, 2003. The company will showcase the capabilities of its AyamaTM 10000 and 20000 network search engine (NSE) families in booth #403.
Cypress will demonstrate operation of its Ayama 10000 NSE at an industry-leading 266-million searches per second (MSPS). The demo of the market’s highest-performance NSE will also highlight the advanced Mini-KeyTM power management and Soft PriorityTM table management features of the Ayama 10000 family. Mini-KeyTM power management capability dramatically reduces power consumption as much as 70% by engaging only the portion of the NSE array that contains entries of interest. The Ayama 10000 NSE’s Soft PriorityTM table management feature which helps maintain data integrity at wire speeds by enabling dynamic prioritization of entries for longest prefix match (LPM) in Layer 3 forwarding applications, reducing the cycles associated with routing table updates will also be displayed.
Running on the Intel IXA SDK, the Ayama 20000 NSE software model demonstrates full interoperability with the IXP2400 NPU through the use of the Foreign Object Model (FOM) interface. The exhibit will showcase the Ayama 20000 NSE in a typical IPv4 routing application. It highlights Cypress’s flexible architecture through the use of its different configurations and its effects on the processing requirements of the IXP2400 microengines.
